U7 Academy

This spring we’re offering a 7 week academy for boys and girls in primary 1 and 2 to come along and try the sport of water polo.

There are a few spaces left and you can sign up at any stage during the run of classes (price pro rata).

When & where

The sessions will take place in the Falls Leisure Centre on Thursday evenings from 18.30 to 19.00.

The first session is on Thursday 2 May and the final session is on Thursday 13 June.

What

Each session will last for 30 minutes and every week a new water polo skill will be introduced. We’ll build up to friendly matches and at the end of the 7 weeks we will award certificates.

Who

Your child does not need to be able to swim but they must be comfortable in water that is 0.8m deep.

While it’s not essential that participants can swim or are currently attend swimming lessons, water polo is a great way to compliment lessons and any child attending both will benefit greatly.

Our coaches hold coaching qualifications from Swim Ireland and have experience of working with children of all ages and abilities from beginners up to senior internationals.

Why?

Water polo is a great team sport. It’s wonderful exercise that improves strength, fitness and flexibility. It also develops the mind. Most important of all, it’s great fun and a brilliant way to enjoy being in the water with friends.
